Tampax Pearl's My Weekend My Way with The Saturdays

By Laura Silver

To mark the launch of the new Tampax Pearl (we'll get to the details of this 'glampon' in a second), Girls Aloud in training, The Saturdays, have launched the 'My Weekend, My Way' campaign (see what they did there? Seamless).

The campaign celebrates the importance of the weekend in our hectic female lives, with each Saturday sharing their secrets to a perfect weekend.

But what has this got to do with Tampax, I hear you cry? Saturday Una, proclaims:

We are all different and all have our own idea of the perfect weekend, but one thing we all have in common is nothing stops us.

Yep, not even pesky periods, 'Girl Power!', 'Fuck Men!' etc, etc...

The Saturdays even celebrated their weekend, free from the toils of femininity, with a pearl inspired photoshoot, and despite the prominence of tight white garments there is not a blood stain in sight.

Wow, those girls really are sticking it to that weekend spoiling period.

But what is the Tampax Pearl? Does it come with a pearl cord to help you really enjoy your weekend? Er no, apparently not. The Tampax Pearl has  a 'unique Pearl Protect System designed to outsmart Mother Nature'. What exactly this is, remains unclear.

Personally, I think a roll of cotton on a string, whose only differences from a regular tampon seem to be an 'anti-slip grip' (we all know how irksome those slippy fingers can be) and prettier than usual packaging, has a better chance of outsmarting the unquestioning consumer than it does 'mother nature'.

But hey, at least with one of these bad boys in you, nothing can get in the way of that precious weekend!

I am actually crying with laughter! Those girls must be gagging for cash to front this. I note it doesn't outsmart Mother Nature so much that it gets rid of the pain and moodiness, ya know, the two things that can kill your weekend stone cold...

If they're "all different", why do they insist on wearing matching ensembles all the time? I heard them described as the Aldi of Girls Aloud.

Hiya,
Would just like to say i won tickets to see them at Oceana Watford. i went along because they where free and we thought it would be a good night. Not only where they late on the stage making it even more worrying for us who had to get back to the civilisation of London, but also didn't apologise. They then sang so off key it was almost ear piercing. I just wanted to say that not only have they sold themselves out but they have no talent and are not paticular nice ppl. Diva in the wrong sense of the word.
