Offbeat Bride: Our Fall Wedding Guide Savior

By Krista Bliss

I’m 31 and unmarried. So what? Yet, still, the breeziness of autumn transitions lulls my mind into “The Big Day” territory – despite my loathing for party planning, taupe taffeta and white mushroom cloud declarations of long-lost virginity. Which is why I love, love, love Ariel Meadow Stalling’s blog Offbeat Bride.

Stallings, who authored the book Offbeat Bride – Taffeta-free Alternatives for Independent Living (did I mention I hate taffeta?), has created an online community for unconventional lovers wishing to celebrate their union in unconventional ways. For example, Offbeat Bride’s latest post features the gorgeous indie/goth/bollywood/preggars/lesbian bridal artwork of Donna Wilson and her Butterflieskiss line of custom creations for the aforementioned Big Day.

Offbeat Bride also offers quirky advice, a vendor and shopping guide, wedding porn (go ahead, take a stab at what that means), a beautiful gallery of vibrant wedding pictures and the Offbeat Bride Tribe networking forum for “independent ‘kick-ass’ brides (and men too).”

As for fall wedding ideas?

How about an October Tim Burton-esque wedding?
