Five Gifts for Our Furry Friends Under $20

By Kate Kotler

In my family, we don't just buy the people Christmas presents, we buy our four legged furry friends presents, too!

Pets provide you with unqualified, unconditional adoration and love 24/7, 365 days per year - don't they deserve a new bone, ball or something-something to open on Christmas morn?  (Or, Christmas Eve for all you weirdo people who have that tradition... yes I said it, opening presents on 24 December is WEIRD. W-E-I-R-D!!)

Besides, nothing quite replaces the hilarity of watching a Yorkie prance around the doggie t-shirt that says "Bitches <3 Me!"  (A nifty-gifty to my "nephew" Nelson a few years ago.)

On this note, I've compiled five of my favorite pet gifts under $20 for your perusal.  Enjoy!

Snuggie for Dogs

$15

You know what a Snuggie is, right?  A blanket with sleeves.  Or, as was pointed out to me as my sister-in-law modeled the one I bought her for her birthday at a SF bar, a Snuggie is a "backwards bathrobe."  Whatever it is, it's wildly hilarious and popular.  And, now they make them for dogs!  Awesome.

"Wanker" Doggie t-shirt

Punkrockdogg.com, $19

I'll admit it... I love EVERYTHING from Punkrockdogg.com.  How can you not, their motto is "Tees, Collars, Tags & Toys for Deviant Dogs."  Come on... seriously, how can you not love that?  As the humour (spelled the UK way) of calling your dog a "wanker" is something not lost upon me.

42 Head Laser Pointer Beam Keychain

Amazon.com, $8

Quite simply put - a laser pointer is the most awesomest, rockingest, niftiest gift you can get for a kitty.  This is fortunate for kitty owners, as since 1995 when the laser pointer made it's debut on the commercial market, their price point has dropped significantly and now you can pick one up for under ten bucks!  Score for you, score for your kittah!

How to Take Over Teh Wurld: A LOLcat Guide 2 Winning

LOLMart.com - $12

Granted, you might not want to give your evil and purring little genius a detailed instructive on how to "take over teh wurld," but surely this newest tome from the funny folks at I Can Has Cheezburger will make your holiday season much merrier, bright and resplendent with the LOLs.

Greenies

For dogs or cats, from $2.99 to $20

Dog and cat breath is the worst!  What better gift to give Fido or Kitteh for the holidays than fresh, greenie breath?  I can hardly think of any.  Greenies are a dento-treat you can give to your dog or cat to freshen their breath.  Max, (my loving poochie), LOVES Greenies and does a little cha-cha dance like the circus dog he is when he's waiting to get his Greenie after our evening walk.

If you hit up the Greenies website right now you can get a coupon for a holiday BOGO (and, if you've ever provided your pup or kitten with these toothie brush treats, you know they're hella expensive!!!)
