Cath Kidston does my head in. Sometimes I walk into her shops and I squeal a little to myself. And then sometimes when flipping through the catalog, I see a neck-to-toe floral, Amish-looking nightgown and I throw up in my mouth a little.
However, this little Summer Sale they have going on at the moment is pretty kick ass. I won't bore you with every flowered cardigan and polka-dotted clutch that's 20% off. But what I will share with you is the best of their travel accessories that are on sale because, hello, it's Summer Holiday time.
(What's that? You haven't booked one yet? Why not go to Butlins? No. Seriously.)
If you love Cath Kidston, sales, and travel accessories, behold:
How beautiful is this? It's teal! (I know it looks baby blue on the website, but in the catalog it's both. Yes, I'm looking at both the catalog and website as I write this.) This little puppy is cabin friendly, has one pocket on the outside, and four on the inside.
Plus, it has a small padlock and key and is made from oilcloth that can easily be wiped clean when those pesky airline employees throw it on the plane.
Straw Sun Hat with Cotton Fabric Trim, £15
How fantastic is this hat? It's the perfect way to keep the sun off your face while on the beach, without looking like your headed to Ascot or about to prune some rose bushes. It's not on the website, but it is available through the catalog. (And any stores that still have it in stock.)
These little cases are perfect for your iPod, digital camera, Flip Cam or any other small gadgets you carry around. (Lipstick vibrator?)
I don't really have cases for all of my gadgets, so this is perfect for when you're on a long flight as you can throw everything in one bag and have them all in one place. Plus, these bags are cute. And only £6!
Keeping your passport in a brightly colored case will make it easy to spot in your handbag, and will hopefully help you, ya know, not lose it when you're on holiday.
Other than that, there's not that many logical reasons for having a passport holder, other than the fact that they look nice. And this does look nice. I'm sure the immigration officer will totally appreciate it, as well. (Probably not.)
If you hate rolly suitcases and want something you can hold and keep on your person while racing through airports and train stations, this is a great bag. It has one external side pocket, with two handles and an adjustable, detachable shoulder strap.
No matter what, there's always some dick on the plane that keeps their reading light the entire flight, or is just super excited to fly and keeps their window open so they can stare at the clouds. If you're on a long flight or catching a "red eye", a sleeping mask is the key to actually catching some sleep. (Never mind your crappy, cramped seat and the child screaming behind you.)
Also, having a little travel pillow that you can just keep in a bag when you're done with it is great because god knows where those pillows on the plane have been...
