Breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Why? Because it breaks the compulsory eating ‘cease and desist’ order placed on the body when it sleeps. Sleep is essential for the body to heal and repair itself, which is why it is so important to re-fuel within an hour of waking. And by that I mean eating, not having a coffee or a cup of tea to give yourself the energy to crowbar yourself out of the door and into the car or onto the train.

Just when we thought the beauty industry couldn’t sell us anymore crap we don’t need, some helpful soul has dreamt up foot fish spas. That’s right, spas where fish eat your feet. I am not even shitting with you.Apparently the little fish things eat all the dead skin but they leave the healthy bits, so don't be afraid. They’re already popular in the Far East where they’re good for dealing with s...

I didn’t think I’d have to deal with this only four and a half months into my pregnancy. After all, at least two shop assistants (we’re on the stroller round) have told me I “don’t look pregnant yet” and even my mother kindly pointed out there was probably “more tummy than baby”. But it turns out babies come with built in hand magnets.

Do you ever cringe at all those girls whose sole aim in life seems to be either becoming a Page Three model (that's basically a Playboy Bunny for you non-Brits) or the girlfriend of a footballer? Ever wondered where those ideas come from, why so many girls out there seem to just aspire to nothing more than beauty, fake tits and a new designer handbag every week? Well look no further, it might just be brainwashing.

One of the greatest gains in the battle for women’s equality has been the freedom granted to some women to fight back against sexism, sometimes with humour, in the public arena. However, what started as a good natured shove back at men for hogging the limelight has become a tired onslaught of lazy man-bashing, dressed up as “having a laugh” but actually, ultimately, hurting women.

One of my friends is participating in a karaoke competition during SXSW. He has to get votes in order to perform and he's been egging people on to vote for him via Facebook status updates relentlessly. I tried to get into this competition last year, but remember posting a link to it once and then ignoring it, in an attempt to be "classy."

When we're hungry, it's simple — we eat. When we're thirsty, we drink. But what about when you just want to and need to be touched? There are no touch cafés. Touch doesn't come as a gift with purchase at the Lancôme counter. And if you're not in a romantic relationship, how do you fill up your touch tank to full?

I underwent a wrist operation a couple of weeks ago, which has rendered me useless in the exercise department. I’m not a fan of gyms and tend to do exercise as part of my daily grind; i.e. cycling or more measured exercise such as yoga. Unfortunately both of these have been banned for a good few months by my surgeon due to the trauma they would create, hindering on my wrists total recovery. As luck would have it, I came across The Guardian & Observer’s free booklets on walking and ...

Earlier this week, the results of a survey on rape and blame were announced, which Hannah Mudge covered for BitchBuzz News. It was quite simply astounding to discover that: "The majority of women surveyed believed that some rape victims should take responsibility for what happened to them."

When my boyfriend asked me to marry him over a year ago, I was under the illusion that all we needed was love. Now I know that a few grand doesn’t go amiss either…We’ve tried to cut out all unnecessary extras, but short of not inviting any guests to your big day, weddings are always going to be expensive. And guests are, well, necessary – to us anyway. However, there are a few ways by which you can keep the costs from spiralling.
